Default Trailer or popup cost?

I was wonder what the average cost is for a trailer or popup test? I was thinking this might make camping with toddlers a little bit easier on me.

For a lot of trips they are both a plus. A pop-up is light and folds flat which saves a lot of fuel and can follow a truck almost anywhere. A trailer uses a lot more fuel and is only practical on a road like a decent logging road. Trailers have more systems and require more maintenance and repairs. They get hooked up more (and cost more).

For families with small kids they would be swell. Just make sure your kids get the tent experience. Maybe they can sleep in a tent sometimes to give Mom and Dad some privacy. Tha's what we always did in our family. The folks slept in a big umbrella tent in those days and we slept in pup tents. Then we got a boat and the folks slept below and the kids slept in the cockpit in good weather.

Edit- Craigslist is great. Pop-ups are good to about 30-35 degrees. A trailer is better for bad weather.

They definitely will get the tent experience, eventually, but they are only 2 and 3 so I wouldn't be comfortable having them in a tent alone or just in the yard because they can get scared easily.

Look around the used camper section of ya local news paper or forum. Add papers like news on wheels are also a good sourse. Ya can usually find a decent used pop up for cheap and if ya dont mind'popin' it up they are great starter campers and good for small kids. Look around check them closely before purchasing and have fun.

A used pop-up seems like it would be perfect for you.

Luxury items depreciate fast. You should be able to find something really nice. Just do your homework, get familiar with the systems and check the unit out really well.

Your children, looking back will always remember those times camping as a family the best times ever.
