Default Survival Guides

I am looking for some good survival guides. The things I am interested in learning about include how to build/set traps, edible and medicinal plants and how to build shelters. Websites are great but I would rather have books that I can take with me.

Field Guide To North American Edible Wild Plants, by Elias and Dykeman, is one of my favorites. It has a lot of good information and nice clear colored pictures of each plant. Naked Into The Wilderness, by John and Geri Mcpherson, is really good and deals with all aspects of survival. Deadfalls And Snares, by A.R. Harding is an old book, but shows how to build traps for everything from rabbits to bears. You can buy Deadfalls And Snares cheap through Fur Fish And Game Magazine.

I was looking through my books last night and found a few more that I thought you might like. The Complete Book Of Outdoor Lore, by Clyde Ormond. Wildwood Wisdom, by Alsworth Jaeger. Skills For Taming The Wild, by Bradford Angier. The Complete Book Of Outdoor Survival, by J. Wayne Fears. The US. Armed Forces Survival Manual. Camp And Trail Methods, by E. Kreps and Woodcraft, by E. Kreps.

Thanks for the list of these woodzman! I will have to start looking for them on ebay or amazon. The book store here doesn't carry anything remotely like what I was looking for!
