Default Selling your old tents ?!

Has any of you tried to sell their old tents online, on sites like eBay or Ubid ? I've seen some offers on these websites regarding used tents at discount prices.

I was wondering - who purchases them? I, for one, would never think of buying second-hand camping gear.

I live near a community college. I sold a bunch of my camping gear to students. I had nice stuff that I wasn't using as I've gotten up there in years a bit.

If it's well maintained I see no reason it should be a problem. A lot of my camping gear is old and second or third hand. Quality gear properly maintained lasts a long time.

I have sold some camping gear at garage sales. I have also bought them at garage sales as well. You can list them on craigslist as well and probably be able to find a buyer that way too.

I haven't tried to sell, but we look to buy. Sometimes I am surprised at the quality I can find, such as at a flea market or garage sale, for a very low price. I have experienced the old adage "Ones man trash is another man's gold" because some people just want to get rid of their stuff at any price.

I picked up some odds and ends of camping gear from yard & garage sales in the past. I agree with ChadTower, if it's well maintained and in good condition...no problem.
