Tent Capacity

I figure they come to their conclusion by how many people in mummy bags who dont have to get out of it in the middle of the night to answer the call of nature, they can fit inside. Seriously...

I have a 4 man tent and at best I consider it a 2 man tent and moderate amount of gear. Maybe I am just getting to be too old and cantankerous!

Even when we have multiple tents for all the members of our family, different people end up in one tent or the other for various reasons. The kids like to cluster together, regardless of where we assign them. Unless it rains, we usually have plenty of room for everyone. In case of rain, we do tend to spread out more.
