Default Earaches and the wind

Last year I got a sinus infection that affected my ear. Now, anytime there is wind it bothers me. I have one of those earmuff things that wrap around your head, but I really don't like it very much. Anyone have anything that works better?

You might want to try the disposable foam earplugs they sell for noise control. You roll it between your fingers then insert it into your ear it then expands to seal the canal.

I was going to suggest the foam earplugs too. I always carry some, since I never know when I'm going to get involved in something noisy. I abused my ears a LOT as a teenager, and I'm trying to preserve the hearing I have left.

The foam plugs work great weigh next to nothing and they are eaasy to get for free On the boat we get them in boxes of 500 sets. I always have a few pairs in my pocket for incase. They wind up coming hoe in my dirty clothes and Peg colects them. We have them every where Peg even carries them in her purse. They are great for noise as well as wind. Just ask anyone who works in noisy areas they will always have a pocket full.

If ya already have an ear ache a old Cajun home remidy is to warm some olive oil and soak a cotton ball in it and pack it in your ear. We still do that on the boat. When I was a kid the only olive oil in the house wes kept in the medicine cabinet I didn't know it was edible till years later.

A watch cap works well. Find one with a fleece inside.

If it gets really cold, a mad bomber style hat with rabbit fur can't be beat.

There are several things you can use. I always use cotton balls when my ears already hurt. Wear a stocking cap or foam earplugs. I always wear the yarn like earmuffs- the ones that go around your whole head.

I'd also suggest the earplugs too and then cover your ears with the earmuffs. That should be able to help.

earplugs first, then cap with ear flaps >>watch cap>>sherpa cap, depending on just how cold. Some of my grandkids have been showing up with those knitted sherpa caps. They are sort of like the old bomber caps covering the cheeks as well as the ears.

You could also go to the doctor and have your ear canals checked out. It might actually be a lingering infection of the ear that you contracted when your immune system was weak because of the sinus infection.
