Default Hiking on holidays

I do not like to hike on holidays because all of my favorite spots are filled with people. Do you hike on holidays or avoid it because there are too many people?

I still hike holidays because my working friends can get the extra day. Once you get past the first few miles, the crowds thin out to very few.

Any time I'm in the woods is a good day!

Today, I'm going to hike back and forth over a 26 acre field with my little brother. We're going to cut down sapling willow and boxelder to maintain the savannah and then paint the bases with glyphosate so they don't grow back. We'll load the brush on a trailer behind my 4X4 and use it to make brush piles for the rabbits and quail. I'll also consume about a gallon of gatorade and sweat like the proverbial stuck pig.

Who says hiking 90 degree weather can't be fun?

Yup. Most holiday hikers are people who have this vague sort of notion that they should walk in the woods. Most don't want to go more than a mile or two into the woods, so the rest is free and clear.
