Mountain hiking Climbing up a mountain is dangerous and requires an expert guide. Sometimes, even the guides can get confused way up high. I am afraid to join mountain climbing groups.

You can start simpler. The first mountain I climbed was just over 3000 feet, in Wales, and it required no guide. That said the second time I went there we passed a rescue team and was requested that we turn back because conditions were rough and someone had fallen and died.... but basically it was just a tough hike, nothing more.

There are many rules in climbing mountain. One thing for sure is that you should let someone know where you are going to climb and the duration of your hike. Don't climb a mountain or a hill that nobody knows to trek.

I cannot say that I am a habitual climber. I just climb when my friends invite me to join them climbing mountain. Unfortunately they often invite me LOL. As long as you have a professional guide and follow all the rules, I think you will be OK.
