Default Warm December Hikes

I just love this warm weather we are having! I went on a fantastic hike today, and it was hard to believe that it's nearly Christmas. This weather is great for hiking. The only down side is that it tricked me in to thinking I had more time to shop for the holidays! I am now switching from hiking and about to head out for some shopping! Wish me luck.... I would rather be hiking!

We have had a warm December. And it appears we are going to have our first green Christmas since 1998. And I have done a lot of hiking this month although most of it was rabbit hunting. I guess you have to take it when you can get it.

Good luck shopping.

I'd rather be hiking too ILoveLife, I don't suppose you could finish up all your shopping at REI and then head out to the trail? I mean I'm sure your sister-in-law and co-workers would really appreciate some new mosquito netting or water purifiers right?

I could not think of any person in their right mind who would rather shop in an over crowded store with insane people running amok than out in the woods enjoying mother nature. Personally I feel my best when I am away from the world of 'crazy'.

I enjoy my shopping around this time at night, and online. While I have not gone hiking, I almost jumped in the pool today to clean myself up from all the yard work. The thought of hiking is there though, with talk of hitting 80 this coming week. The only problem the sun sets way too soon this time of year. I miss waking up and watching the sun rise from my office window, and being able to get more time out in the evening.

I'll be taking advantage of the warmer weather to get out and start removing some of the Geocaches I have had out for the past few years. Loosing interest in the activity and I'm getting turned off to how many caches are in the area.

I liked caching a lot better too, back when it was fun hides in the woods. All these micros in parking lots and old pay phones, etc. etc. has diluted my interest somewhat. I also liked when most people didn't know about it. It was more fun when it was semi-secretive.
I'm looking forward to finding some when hiking, though. Hopefully there will be a few out next to trails I plan on practicing on. It's been in the high 60s and 70s here the last week, plenty warm enough for a hike. Unfortunately all my stuff is in boxes under the non-denominational winter-solstice-based holiday tree.
