Default Appalachian Trail Video

The Camera: Kevin Gallagher's Appalachian Trail - Explore

This short video made up of 24 pictures in 24 steps daily by an AT through-hiker is pretty cool to watch especially for those of you have heard about this trail, but have never seen our Eastern mountains. Enjoy!

Interesting to say the least. Thanks for posting Judy.

Judy, thanks for posting! The hubby and I have been talking a lot about the Appalachian Trail here lately. I never would have thought to do something like that. Definitely makes me want to go hiking now!

I'll be doing the Ga section in November to Deep Gap NC (FS 71). Ill definitely start losing sleep when it gets a little closer. Its about 90 miles I believe when starting from the approach trail and really just feel like I have to get it done since its backyard territory for me!

doing springer to Neel Gap in a few weeks. That section is three days, and occupies about the first 1.5 seconds on the video...

That was an interesting video.

Lately I've ready a few books written by hikers who have thru-hiked the trail, and some that have attempted and failed (they can't all be successful).

What's interesting is that there were a lot of places that I recognized from the descriptions in the books that I've ready, although I've never been to those places.

I thought that was pretty cool.

I've been on parts of the Appalachian Trail in North Carolina and Tennessee. Some of the terrain looks very familiar. It's a beautiful area, and I could never tire of it.

Doing Mt. Mount Katahdin this summer. As well as some other hikes in Baxter State park and that area.
