That is a good idea. I see that now they sell good waterproof pack liners, which are nothing else but dry sacks. Still it's nice to have this option.

I've got a rain jacket in my backpack, and my pack has a built in cover in the bottom. I use trash compacter liners inside for my sleeping bag, just in case something gets through.

In wet weather I use a trash compactor bag inside my pack and a pack cover on the exterior. I use a trash compactor bag because they are a little thicker mil than a typical trash bag.

Unless I am in a very exposed alpine region with high winds and cold I generally hike near naked. I usually keep my shorts on but take almost all other cloths off and keep them dry inside my pack. I do carry a light Gore tex jacket but I usually only put it on at my campsite or during lunch breaks in the rain.

Hiking near naked? Does North Face make a nylon kilt? That would be pretty awesome... hahaha.
This time of year a little rain would seem nice. I was out today and when I heard thunder in the distance I was thinking, "thank god. Im so hot..."

It never rained, it was a teaser.
