That sounds like a wonderful idea. That really bites that people would steal from others on the trail but it does happen. I hate to have to force someone to eat dirt, especially when I'm tired and cranky. Having some supplies in the car is something I have always done. I have some sort of protein in there as well as a treat and some water. You never know what you will need.

I leave a cooler packed with ice and a single beer in the car. First thing I do when I get back is pop open that beer.
