I've donated many nice things to Goodwill. Sometimes I just don't need something anymore, or in my case, I had a break up and I had to get rid of a ton of stuff to move into a new place. I gave up some really nice things when that happened.
Yeah, I would guess the two main reasons that outdoors equipment ends up at Good Will is because of moving and break ups. I had an Ex Girlfriend who donated all my fishing poles instead of letting me come get them.
Lol, I shouldn't laugh. Many, many years ago I had a girlfriend set all the cloths I left at her house on fire once, but that was not a big deal to me. When ever I moved in the past I went out of my way to make sure I could take everything with me.
I have given some nice tents and other camping gear to Good Will when I got new stuff. I usually ask my family first, but if they don't want it off it goes to Good Will.
