Default Climbing Vs. Plain Carabiners

I use carabiners all the time for securing stuff to my pack, bag or me. But they are those weak carabiners that can't hold big weight. Do you know some manufacturer who makes strong climbing biners?

I can't help you here exactly because I'm not an experienced climbers. The only thing I know is that true carabiners must be extremely strong. I bet that they can hold as many as 1000 pounds.

I would think it would be what they are made of. But I am not a climber so I could not tell you for sure. I do know most climbing carabiners are made from 7075 aluminum and treated to T6 temper. I believe they are rated for a breaking stress of 4,500 pounds of force.
