Default Devil's Tower

Have any of you climbed Devil's Tower in Wyoming? I was there last summer and saw quite a few climbers scaling it. I imagine the view from the top is spectacular.

I've never heard of that one. But, then, I've never been fortunate enough to be in Wyoming, as of yet. Can you walk up, or is it a "climb-only"?

No, you definitely have to climb as it's very steep. Most people walk around the trails at the bottom, but you can also play around on the boulders at the base.

Oh, wow, that looks very challenging! I am still doing some indoor mountain climbing training, but I will put this one on my list for when I am ready to do the real thing.

Seemed like a fairly easy climb as far as "Close Encounter of the Third Kind " goes....just kidding! Has any one seen any pictures of what it's like on top.

I'm not a climber but that is a seriously beautiful piece of nature. I knew I had seen it somewhere else old sarge but I haven't seen "Close Encounters" for years. That is the Devil's Tower that they have in the film isn't it.

I am not good enough. The easiest route up it is about the top of my ability and slick in spots from years of climbers.

That looks like a massive challenge to me and I am betting I would walk around the bottom area too. I would have no issues going there for a nice trip to a new place maybe on a vacation but my tired bones might not be able to hack that.

I didn't even know you could climb it. Devil's Tower is on my list of places to see, but maybe I should move it to my list of places to climb!
