Default Ice Caves

I was reading an interesting article showcasing ice caves. I've never seen one in person so for now anyway, I have to content myself with the stunning photos.

Have you ever been to an ice cave?

I can say with sertanty dat dis chubby cajun aint never gonna set foot in an ice cave. I wouldn't even sink my hand in an ice chest if it wern't to fish out a beer.

That photos are awesome. I have been to some before, my parents have pictures of them at some ice caves with me in a backpack carrier, so I don't remember it. haha. It would be cool to go check some out now.

The ice caves on Mt Rainier can be very impressive depending on the year. On a sunny day the ice appears to be a mixture of crystalline clear and azure blue. They are large, beautiful and spooky all at the same time.

There are some lava tube caves around here that have ice formations. My dad says that a few decades ago, when the water table was a bit higher, they had more ice than they do now. He remembers ice skating in one as a teenager.

These sound beautiful, but there's no way I'll ever be in the physical shape to do that kind of exploring, unless it's in one of those ice hotels where you rent the rooms for some astronomical fee. I love seeing the photos of the ice formations.

Hi...

Very interesting...and, no, I've never been in one...excluding my former camp in winter...

There is one...a popular tourist attraction...in neighboring Ulster County. In one of the few villages that is on a dead-end road.

Thank you for the link! Honestly I did not even know ice caves existed! I can't say that I would ever go exploring in one (looks might chilly) but I loved looking at the pictures. Pure beauty!

I've heard of them, but the closest I've ever been to being in one has been my Grandmother's basement bedroom where I used to sleep when we visited. Talk about being cold! I don't think ice caves in person are for me, but I love seeing the photos.
