Default Living on a boat

Have you ever lived on a boat or on a houseboat for an extended period of time? I'm seriously thinking about renting a houseboat for the summer, as I've always wanted to experience living on a boat.

Always thought it would be fun, but never got the chance.

I have some friends who used to live on their boat. One thing you learn to do very quickly is to do without. Since it is mostly you and the sea, I guess needs are quite different. I think it takes a special resolve to do it for very long.

Way cool, I to have always wanted to try and live on a house boat. We have a place called Shasta lake that rents house boats, its pretty expensive so We are trying to get another couple or so to split the cost.

Alice came to a fork in the road," Which road do I take"? she asked.
"Where do you want to go"? responded the cheshire cat.
"I don't know," Alice answered.
"Then," said the cat, "it doesn't matter".

I have lived on a large sailboat that had some pretty decent quarters. A friend of mine had to leave the country and allowed me the use of his boat when he was gone, it was a great experience.

I lived on a boat while in High School with my parents. It was very small and you do live with OUT, but you get used to it. I live for the day that I can/will do it again! I learned to appreciate alot more as I grew up!

I've never lived in one, but several years ago, me and about nine other people (there were 10 of us in all) all pitched in and rented a 60 footer for two weeks. It only cost each person about $200. Not bad for two weeks and we had a blast!

Nope and I really would not want to. I'm not that great on the water (uneasy stomach). I think it sounds like fun if you can handle the waves and such. Would you be out on the water or docked at shore?

My husband and I almost sold our house to go and live permanently on a barge in Europe. It fell through at the last minute, sadly, but the credit crunch happened shortly afterwards so maybe it was for the best!

A friend of mine did with her husband for about a decade and they loved it. It was well before kids came into the picture and they said they both thoroughly enjoyed it. I am not too sure I could swing that, I can barely read in a car without wanting to puke not too sure how I would do on a boat.
