Default At Work On The Boat

It aint exactly camping, but it dang sure is boating, so I thought I'd start a thread with some pictures from work. I just got home from a 28 day hitch and during that time I caught some amazing sunsets heres a couple pictures of one of them.

beautiful Cappy, welcome back

Default Sea Gulls

The sea guls like to hitch a ride on the barge. When we kick up small bait fish with our props they swoop in and gobble up the fishes we wash up. Here is a story about one sea guls fishy adventure:

Awesome sunset photos Cappy! Too bad there aren't any sea gulls down there in the Gulf! Do dolphins follow the barge? Are you still seeing signs of damage from the oil spill?

I bet you're glad to get back home for a spell.

Ah life on the water. There is nothing like it. We used to sleep on boats a lot when I was young, before air conditioning. My uncle just published his memoirs describing 26 years as a merchant marine. I have several friends that work tugboats in the Tropics and a retired Coast Guard captain.

Seafaring people are a different breed, and I always get along with them.

Yes judy Ann the dolphins do follow us. We often wonder if they do it for the fishes or does the turbulance we cause tickles? My first day home was very rainy but thats ok, it don't rain in the Bed room

I think boating is similar to camping if you plan on living on one for a few days/weeks! Albeit the facilities on a boat are typically more generous than in a camping situation.

Livin' on a work boat is exactly like camping off da grid in a camper. The boat is small and ya gotta bring what ya need with ya. Often ya way out away from roads and what I love about my job is lots of what i love about camping. Sunsets! wild life, amazing star viewing. Just the simple joy of passing through God's wonderful creations. It's what I love and why I thought to share a lil of it with yall.
