I met these 2 tall ships on the river 'bout 100 miles south of New Orleans They were returning from the City where they took part in the navy's celibration of the bicentinial of the war of 1812. I would have loved to beable to go to the celibration but at least I got to see these beautiful old ships make their way down river.

Default Nutria Rats

One morning while sitting in the wheel house drinking coffee I watched this young Nutria Rat swim up and sit on the bank grooming himself. These guys can get 40 lbs or more are strict vegans and groom their fur several times a day.

Hey as long as you are outdoors you are doing something right. The only reason I am indoors right now is because they pay me to me, I would love a job outside of a stuffy old building.

Default Gaters

[B]I ran up stairs to do some paper work, looked out the window and saw a grey lump across the pass.IMG_1485.jpgI grabbed my camera and zoomed in on it and sure enough it was an 8ft Gater.[IMG_1486 (1280x960).jpg/ how it escaped gater season, which just ended, I don't know. It's doing what I am doing though, enjoying a beautiful day in the marsh. It aint camping I guess but it,s what I love doing when I am camping. B]

I like this thread Cappy, you take many great pictures. Heading to coastal SC myself later this week, hopefully one of those won't be cruising around my tent!

While traveling through the delta this evening we scared up a bunch of wild pork chops I was relieved to see they survived the storm. IMG_1491 (1280x960).jpgDeer season will be closed here on aounta the herd was thined by the storm but hog hunting is looking pretty good.IMG_1490 (1280x960).jpg
