Does anyone know what it is? My teenage daughter went with some friends and had a blast and we'd like to try it as a family but my youngest is only 11. Not sure if I'd want him down there or not but I'd like to know. Thanks in advance.

I'm not really sure but what ever company you get to take you will know for sure. And also what they require. If none of you have ever been before I'm sure they will require you to take some lessons so you know what you are doing.
I would say an 11 year old can go. The minimum age requirement to get PADI certified is 10. Still, I think it depends on the maturity of the 11 year old.
Maturity? He and his father wouldn't be allowed to go. But we'll give it a shot-thanks all for the information. The girls and I can dive and the guys can go snorkeling if necessary.
I thought most places wanted the age at least 10 and I have heard some places also require an adult on the trip to have a CPR cert. Not sure if the latter was true or not though, check with the company before hand (esp. before paying a non-refund package).
