| Flare guns Does anybody carry a flare gun in case of an emergency? Depending on where you are going I guess that could seem like overkill, but if you were somewhere unfamiliar it might be a good idea. |

| I've thought about it for the kayak, but have not gotten one yet. I do not think I would carry one on a hiking trip though. |

| I think it would definitely depend on the place I was going. I don't go to places that aren't well known or anything. If I was going on a big wilderness trip where no one hardly ever went I think it would be a good idea. |
