Default Hiking/Walking through leaves

Nothing gives me better enjoyment on a hike or walk through the woods then the sound of crunching leaves. I am in my glory right now. I go find the biggest piles of leaves in the woods and walk through them. Anyone a bit odd like me?

I like to hear the deer crunching through the leaves towards my stand.

Hi...

As a youngster, I had fun with leaves. I used to put a pile of them in the road...over a large rock.

Use to love making piles in the yard to jump in and the making forts out of a really big pile.

That's nothing, My oldest sister would secretly pile up leaves around a fire hydrant, then tell us to dive into it! During the summer months she would set up the slip-n-slide with the fire hydrant at the end, it was like paying horse shoes with human bodies!

Sisters are like that. I don't mind leaves but they do seem to make a difference when I'm sneaking up on my wife to scare her. It's always amusing to see her jump into a tree when I sneak up and yell-BOO!

I'm with you, campclose. There's nothing like the sound of acorns scrunching underneath your feet in the fall. I love this time of year best for walking.

I know the feeling and I do it often, but not on tracks where I want to encounter some animals. Too much noise and you won't see anything.
