Hi...


For those of you who can and do get sunburned...the application of vinegar can frequently reduce the amount of pain involved (wet towel/paper towels, etc.)


NOTE:

"Pathfinder", who is now posting on this forum, is NOT Pathfinder1, which is me...!!

Last time I applied vinegar to a sun burn it burned like all hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried the vinegar remedy once...just once. I share oldsarge's opinion on that. My mom used to keep damp towels in the freezer during the summer. She'd wrap those around our sunburns (shockingly cold at first, but then very nice) for a while, and then use a lotion with lavendar oil and/or tea tree oil. It seemed to make a big difference.

As far as avoiding sunburn in the first place, sunscreens help but don't completely prevent sunburn for me. I generally hike in a light, breathable white long-sleeved shirt and light nylon long hiking pants. I should wear a hat, but they drive me crazy.
