What a great time you must be having. I love lying in a hammock, but I don't know if I would want to do it for an entire year. Good luck with the rest of your sojourn. There's a great night's rest at the end of it, no doubt. . . in a bed!

Sounds pretty impressive to me. I have never slept overnight in a hammock either. I love laying in the them but I would be afraid of falling out in the night. We have been having a mild winter, but it still gets pretty chilly at night. I would have to try this in the summer.

Sounds like a fun adventure!! A hammock is just like heaven. I told my husband months ago that he can forget pampering me at a spa, just give me a nice hammock on a good evening to lay out and enjoy the nature around us.

Sounds like a lot of fun. I enjoy lying down on a hammock but only for a few minutes 'coz after that, my lower back starts hurting.

I know a guy who suffered from chronic back pain following an injury. He was spending a few thousand a year on specialty mattresses. At a party, he got too drunk to go home and crashed in his friend's hammock. He felt so good the next day that he ordered the exact same hammock and strung it up in his room. He hasn't slept in a bed in years and is off his pain medication.

Sometimes all your troubles can be traced back to a lack of hammocks in your life.

Newanderthal, did your friend just have back problems or was it a herniated disc? That is so strange that he slept in a hammock and did not feel any pain. I am not sure I could stay in a hammock as long as the original poster. I might try it out one day, but not any time soon.
