I try to stay inside close to my furnace once the snow flies. I think I should live somewhere a bit balmier. It is sad that it is starting to get colder and darker but hopefully spring and summer will be here again soon.

Thanks for the weather update, I'm so hoping for a couple of inches of snow on the tent. MsDolittle and marmotstew (HikerJoe) posted pics on this site a while back of snow covered tents that inspired me to try to find a Southern style flurry to post in return. If I could drive mountain roads covered on snow I'd want more, but this lowcountry girl isn't going near the weather you get up there in the Smokies!

I see. Y'all are in the Northern South. Down here, it's prime camping season. My gear's good down to 20F and I love the quiet of winter woods. Trying right now to decide where to go for the long Thanksgiving weekend.

I'm thinking a coastal Thanksgiving. Steamed oysters while the turkey and fixings cook. Yummy!

That sounds delicious way of celebrating Thanksgiving.

What? Camping season is just beginning. Fall and winter are the best times of year to go camping.
