Anyone camp on the beach in Ca.....Sunset

Just wondered if anyone here has done some camping on the beach in the Ca. area and watched a beautiful sunset? We really like to do that and were thinking of going out the way. Any really good camping there?

Theres over 700 miles of beach in cali. Do you want to go more northern or southern cali. Down south towards mexico they are warmer and sandy up north by oregon they are always cold, wet and more rocky.

Look into the Lost Coast Trail, and start at Mattole. It's off in the middle of nowhere, and it's arguably the greatest beach trail in California. Do some Google'n to grab some photos to prove this.

When I was stationed at Ft Ord in the '60's, woke up on the beach a couple of times but wouldn't call it camping.
