Pigeons are a good symbol of messed up habitat. They are exotic birds that are known to carry 21 diseases communicable to man. There is nothing I enjoy more than watching a prairie falcon nail one in a flurry of feathers.

Birdwatching and other ways of paying attention to nature are the antidote for urban ways. I don't see the point of living outside if you are just going to do all the same things you would do at home.

I'd rather watch a bird spit on a cook...!!

NOTE:

"Pathfinder", who is now posting on this forum, is NOT Pathfinder1, which is me...!!

We have a friend who birdwatches. He'll get a phone call from his network of birdwatching friends and take off, driving hundreds of miles to where a bird on his list has been spotted. I enjoy watching birds and taking pictures of them, but I can't imagine how dedicated one must be to drive 200 miles on the chance of marking one more bird off your list.
