Default Bringing toys

I have a one year old and when we camp I'm wondering if there is a way to cut down on the toys. It's cramped enough without being overloaded with all of her toys too. It's not like she's an older kid and I can explain that one or two toys is the limit.

I don't think you can really get away from it with a child that small they take a lot of equipment and toys and there really isn't a way around it.

If a 1 year old isn't happy, the whole family isn't happy!!. Just concentrate on his/her favorite or favorites and keep it to a minimum if space is an issue.

You are truly braver than I. I can't imagine bringing an infant camping. It's hard enough at home with all the amenities. They go through a lot of diapers at that age. Gee, I'm getting tired just thinking about the work involved.

When we go camping we bring one of our kids small suitcases with toys and books. This keeps the amount of toys to a limit and makes a neat, easy to store area for the toys.

I agree with trader. You have to make that baby happy or else the trip will be miserable for everyone. One year old just don't "get it" and will not understand why you won't let them have what they want!

We have a three year old so we have a limit of 2 trucks, 1 ball, 1 reading book and a small spray bottle. He loves to spray water on the trees and shrubs...He seems to stay content..

The suitcase idea is a good one. Something like that should be more than enough for a 1 year old during a weekend. Good luck with everything.
