Bringing your pet

I like to bring my dog along backpacking. I always clean up after him when he poops and I never let him run up to others who are out there trying to enjoy themselves. Bring them along but be a good responsible pet owner, not a slob.

Just like what everyone else mentioned here, owning and bringing a pet entails a bit of responsibility. The one thing that really irritates me is seeing campers that bring their dogs with them complaining about their campgrounds being so messy and making a fuss about it, yet, allow their dogs to just roam free. Worst part is when they poop in your campsite and the owners expect you to be the one to clean it up since it was in your campsite and not theirs. Sheesh!
