Default Camp rules

When I was young and in scouting there were always rules to guide our behavior within the camp. Do you have any particular rules you want the people camping with you to abide by?

Leave it better than you found it if it's a designated site.

LNT if it's not.

I try to keep it simple.

The two big ones for us:

1. EVERYONE helps. You don't help cook, you don't eat. You don't help set up the tent, you don't sleep in a tent. You don't help clean up, you clean up alone next time.

2. TELL SOMEONE where you're going. If you don't come back, we'd like to know where to start looking for you.

Absolutey NO food or snacks brought into the tent or left anywhere in the camp site, including in the fire ring, at any time, as this can attract wildlife

1. Never touch my gear unless directed to do so.
2. You are responsible for your own gear.
3. If you die, the rest of us will split up your gear.

It's pretty much what has already been said. There's no wandering off alone, and even in pairs, you tell others what you're doing. No trashing up the place, not even with a button.

Keep me informed... it's a house rule as well as a camping rule.

If you don't know the answer, ask.

Team work makes a difference, so be part of it.

The guy that cooks doesn't do the dishes.

No food in tents, all grub has to stay secured (vermin and bear are an issue).

DON'T MESS WITH MY CAMPFIRE.

Sorry, dinosaur, but I had to giggle over the thought of you fighting over who gets my thong undies.

Our biggest rule is the buddy system. Don't go anywhere alone.

I like this one, and one more people need to follow.

I'm not all that big on rules, it's more common sense I guess than anything. But I guess if I would have to chose one thing I'd have to say don't drink to much and become a danger to those that surround you.
