Been on a trail maintainance crew for 5 years. Almost all people say thanks, but only 1 in 20 help. There have been people stop, sit down and wait for you to clear a tree and walk right by, never even moving a twig.
Or the small tree in a trail and 500 people walk over it, most having a saw or hachet in their pack. I never pass a small obstacle without clearing it, unless it's raining cats and dogs. It usually takes only a few minutes to clear a trail.

If you sign up for a Survival School and it's cancelled for bad weather, you didn't miss much.
