Default Camping without bathrooms?

Ever go camping somewhere that there are not any bathrooms? What do you do? I won't camp anywhere that there are no bathrooms. I can't imagine being out in the middle of nowhere with no bathroom.

Some of the bathrooms in the state parks are nasty anyway. I have packed a port a jon ever since I got married (30 years now). I also have a Zodi hot water shower that I haven't used yet. So I do have the equipment to go to the sticks.

Public bathrooms are usually pretty gross, whether they are in a campground, a restaurant, a store. I also will not camp somewhere without a restroom. Even though most of them are groooooossss.

I can do with out the shower for a short period of time. I keep a roll of toilet paper in my car. Also if you do have to go out doors don't forget to dig a hole and cover it over.

Wow, I'm pretty much the exact opposite. If there's a bathroom around, that usually means too many people frequent the location for my tastes. I'm a veteran so I'm used to bivouacking.

We took a port-a-pot that stores like Walmart sell. It's a little nasty when we have to empty the bucket and clean it when we get home, but it works.

I hadn't been camping for years and we really enjoyed it.

I agree with Bruen actually public restrooms generally equal too many people. Guess our idea of "roughing it" and most others is very very different.

This is what a small shovel is for. When I go camping, I go where there are no public restrooms. If a bear can **** in the woods, why can't I?

I dig a small hole and bury it.

I saw a portable stool (pun lol) with a toilet seat on it for $30 at a local hardware store. I might pick one up. They are too big for backpacking, but would be good for remote camping.

Bumper dumper works good too.

Dig a hole off the path behind that tree. Do your thing. Bury and cover with rocks or branches.
