| I had an insulated commercial dog house at one time but didn't like it. I think it was a "dogloo" brand. Then I made a wooden one with insulated floor, sides, and ceiling and a baffled entryway so wind didn't get in. I also had a light bulb fixture inside for heat and I could swap the regular bulb with a heat bulb if really cold, but dogs didn't like or need that much heat. They were fine with just being dry and out of the wind.
A house dog, like a human, becomes acclimated to the warmer temps in the house or in Florida for that matter, and cannot tolerate as much cold without assistance. My tolerance for cold is much less than when I was out in the cold all winter long. But after a few continual days outside, I'm fine again.
