Are there any staples when it comes to fun that you take with you on each new camping trip? For example, magazines, board games, cards, Frisbees?

No, just my nose, my eyes, my ears and my focus on what I am seeing, hearing and smelling.

My hiking shoes, flower & bird guides, & usually my Nook, although I spend a lot of time chasing my kids and often don't get any reading done.

I always carry a kite in the car just in case.

In the campground we carry an assortment of things for the kids to do at night or if it rains and we are tent bound. Coloring books, board games, cards. I personally carry a few field guides, a good book, and 1 or 2 magazines. My wife always has several books with her. On the trail I might carry a magazine or a small area oriented field guide of some type.

I never met a dog I didn't like. You may not like GUNS, and choose not to own one. You may not like GOD, and choose to exclude him. However, if some one breaks into your home the first two things you will do are, 1) Call someone with a GUN. and 2) PRAY they get there in time.

A pocketbook, badminton racket and bird, deck of cards and some puzzle games to buy time. I rarely bring my wooden guitar at the camp, it depends if I bring our wheels on the outdoors.

A book is what I will carry. Probably an instructional book on outdoor skills to try some of the things out. But as ponderosa said, I often don't get any reading done.

I like to write when I'm outside, which is when I usually get most inspired. But if you're going with a larger group than two you can forget about that.

Hmmm I haven't flown a kite in ages... :-)

Sometimes I'll bring a harmonica...I can't play worth a hoot, but it's fun trying when there's no body around to laugh.
