Default Ever do an eat what you catch weekend?

Have you ever done an eat what you catch camping weekend? I haven't but my husband used to do them all the time as a way to keep his fishing and snaring skills up.

Many moons ago when I was in high school, me and two of my friends headed into the woods for the weekend to hunt deer and catch fish. We brought potatoes and onions were all the food we brought.

I caught three fish then lost the lure so we ate ok that night. We wondered the woods, our form of hunting back then. Couldn't catch any more fish and it started raining.

I was sleeping in my Jeep and I left my doors at home. One of the other guys didn't zip his tent all the way(he had borrowed the tent) so he had water running in. So in the middle of the night here he comes and crawls in the Jeep. It wasn't like there was enough room for me to sleep so I was awake trying to keep some plastic over the door openings.

The next day we kind of got dried out and found an ice cream store and that kept us from starving. That might be why I still over pack in the food department to this day. Even with about running out of gas and being lost in the middle of the night, we had a blast.
