What individual moments or sights do others find most special when it comes to their camping experiences. For me, the most vivid visual image I relish is when the sun filters through the leaves in all those dappled patterns that never cease to fill me with genuine pleasure.

Oh man it is so hard to say, specialy limiting to visual only. But my favoriate would have to be a foggy morning on a montain creek or river with the sun slowly shining through burning off the fog. That is also because one of my favoiate smells is also being down by a creek, and one of my favoriate places to be, specially in the summer in GA cause you can cool off.

Hi...

Seeing the summer leaves turn into their magnificent autumn colors.

Crouching down in my duck blind on cold, rainy day, hoping to see some ducks fly over.

Making the first tire tracks in the newly fallen snow.

Observing the wildlife in a marsh or swamp.

Seeing the storys told by animals' footprints in the mud or snow.

Seeing unafraid wildlife as they pass near me.

My favorite visual image is being up on a mountain top early on a foggy morning.

When the fog settles into the valleys, you can look out over it and see the blue sky above and the fog below. It's like looking across a vast white lake, and the mountain tops are like small islands poking up here and there.

Fog is a good one, I like a somewhat cloudy morning and I mean way before anyone else wakes up so I can be greedy and just enjoy a little more alone without the noise of others. I also like a good night to catch some shooting stars.

Nevada starlight at 9000 feet. Moonrise. First sunrise and sunset in the mountians. Large hoofed ungulates in groups of more than 50. Sunlight on the Carson River.

Sunrise across a still lake bordered by evergreens with granite crags rising above the tree line. Water so still, you can catch a mirror image so clear, you can turn the picture upside down and the trees are still distinct.

A doe coming in from her morning drink and feed to feed her new fawn.

Golden eagles circleing overhead waiting for you to pass on so they can continue their feed.

Grandkids playing in the backyard. Or catching their first fish. Or learning to field dress their first buck.

Bald Eagles making thier way up river as I sit on the bank and sip my morning coffee.----Deer on river islands watching me as I float within 30 feet or less of them.--------------My grandchildren as they hike out ahead of me, or as they settle by a campfire after a long day.----------------------------------------------------------------------------All the things around me as I sit silently in my campsite having the first coffee of the day before anyone else is awake.

I never met a dog I didn't like. You may not like GUNS, and choose not to own one. You may not like GOD, and choose to exclude him. However, if some one breaks into your home the first two things you will do are, 1) Call someone with a GUN. and 2) PRAY they get there in time.

I would imagine that it would be hard to choose one image or memory. I look forward to seeing the sunrise or sunset high atop a mountain. I am also looking forward to being in an area where I have a clear view of the stars.
