Default foods - resource book

What is a good resource book to carry along when you are looking for fruits, nuts, berries to eat in the wild? I am always trying to brush up on new things but sometimes (with age) I get a tad forgetful. I would love to get my hands on a few for different states since we tend to travel too.

I get a lot of information from Healing Plants of the Rocky Mountains by Darcy Williamson. Plant by plant she gives much advice about medicinal, nutritional, and hygenical uses.

What a coincidence! I've been actually thinking about what to give a friend of mine for his upcoming birthday. That book might just do the trick. Thanks Grandpa!

I'd love a book or series that covered the majority of the US, or a list of books, one for each state perhaps.

They say for every ailment of the human body, there is a natural cure for it. Look at tribes in the amazon, they RARELY die of cancer or other diseases and their 'doctors' are the most respected of all the elders in the tribe.

America is not the land of (get everything you don't deserve) Its the land the (work your ass off and make your own way), if you don't like it go to china, they have free health care and 1$ a day wages.

If you are in the west, Darcy is the expert. I didn't realize how many books she has written, nor the breadth of her expertise. I have picked up some of her books simply because they looked highly informative. Because I mentioned her Healing Plants book on this thread, I went to her website. As today at 3:00 pm is grandma's retirement party at work, we have discussed going to one of her mountain workshops. If we do I will let you all know what we thought of it. In the meantime, here is her website. I hope you don't think this is spam, I have never met the woman nor have any connection to her but this website may give you information you are asking about.
