Default Going to the Races

I know some folks that travel the stock car race circuit every year. They have their campers or motor homes, everything they need on board and just have the best time. Most have spots in the infields and rekindle old friendships from last year. I have also heard some wild, wild tales from these events. Anyone out there partake in these activities?

did dover races twice a year with friends for about 20 years ( 15 people / 3 campers ). good times , watching kids grow , grand kids born and a toast for those that passed .
it was great till the tracks started raising prices of tickets and camping . over $500 per weekend ( had to buy 2 tickets to each race to get in the better camping area )
miss the good times , but they priced me out .

My brother and I are planning to watch the NASCAR race in Daytona this coming July and doing a bit of camping as well while we're at it with his kids. Nothing quite concrete yet, but definitely hoping that it will push through.

I live half an hour from the Darlington track. Never understood the thrill of NASCAR. Too much driving in circles, not enough violent terrifying collisions. Bit you are correct in the camping aspect. I worked the track a few times. The infield campers are quite an amazing spectacle.

I've been to a couple of Nascar races. Las Vegas was boring and Martinsville was great. But I've sat through many a local small track races and loved every minute of it. I had two daughters and one son in law racing the same season one year.

Spending time with children is more important than spending money on them. (Don't know who said it but I like it)

We've never done it with Nascar but we camp at motocross races in Ontario Canada. It's not quite as elaborate. In fact most times it's downright primitive. You park in the middle of a field and you bring everything with you, including a generator since there are no hookups. But it's a lot of fun and you meet up with others who follow the circuit.
