Default Halloween camping

We did it! We rented a cabin for September 30th -Oct 2nd at our favorite campsite. It's their Halloween celebration weekend too so it should be tons of fun. The kids are so excited. Do you go to campgrounds on their "holiday celebration weekends"?

Fantastic! Halloween is so much fun! It's great that you booked nice an early. I know the campsites around here will sell out well before October.

Sounds like a good time. We have done this a couple of times. We have also went for the Christmas celebration (that is usually in July). Be sure you take your costumes!

I've camped on Thanksgiving once. I think your Halloween costume should be a bear. You could break in to other people's cabins and steal all their beer and food.

This sounds awesome. I've never done anything like that for Halloween. I usually have a tradition of going to a small party and returning home early to watch Halloween movies with Michael Myers and eat a bunch of candy. BikerJoe, that was a funny comment!

Yeah, but you'd have to wear your bullet proof vest. LOL! I love the campground idea for Halloween. I have camped over fourth of July before and that was a lot of fun, but never on the fall and winter holidays.

I'm sure that everyone will have a great time! Do all of you wear costumes or just the kids?

HikerJoe, camping on Thanksgiving just makes too much sense especially here in NC. I might have to steal your idea and get a group together on the Outer Banks for a long weekend camping among the dunes and a typical Thanksgiving feast...steamed oysters, boiled shrimp, wings, fried turkey, dressing, sweet potatoes, rice, gravy, cornbread, fresh collards, pumpkin pie, apple pie, wine, ice cold beer etc. Throw in a Thanksgiving Day Surf Fishing Tournament or 5K Run and you've got yourself the makings of a terrific Carolina Celebration!

Jeff Foxworthy says, "you know your from Idaho if you design your childs trick or treat costume to be worn over a snowsuit". Which may be very true but we sure enjoy hiking in and camping at a remote hot springs during the fall holidays.

We've got a state park here that does a huge Halloween weekend. It's so big they run a shuttle bus to get visitors in and out.
It's incredible how the campers decorate their sites for the weekend and it's a huge family event for all.

The best one I ever saw was the people dressed as the cast from Scooby Do and had their huge Winnebago fitted with a cover to look like the "Mystery machine".
I had my picture taken (like many others) with them with the RV in the background. It was that good.
