I know he would if I gave him the chance. The sonofa***** doesn't care about what germs he spreads around me. Why should I care about him? I bury my crap. The bear doesn't. Screw him. If he isn't careful, he's going to be a roast. Yum. Yum.

is it true we humans have more bacteria within us because of our reprogrammed foods? Or is this not true?

Last October, a buddy of mine was out at my ranch. We were doing some fishing and squirrel hunting. He had to visit the facility. I tossed him a roll of toilet paper and pointed at the tree line. He knew what I meant and went off to relieve his pressure. I've been doing this for a long time on my own land. I don't do it elsewhere because the rules say differently and I follow the rules even if I think they're stupid.

The fact is that feces can infect animals (including humans) with disease. I have a dairy farmer next door who is most happy for me to go across the street and take deer any time I want so that some disease the deer leave in their feces does not infect his cows. It just goes to show you that if you play with **** too much, you're going to catch something. On the other hand, if I can tell how fresh the feces are, I can tell how far ahead the animal is. If I'm tracking, I want to know. I use a stick to tell and then move on. And I've killed a lot of animals.

But I'm still low impact. I don't take more than I require. I never leave a trace except in the snow. I dare you to find me any other time of the year.

In AK North where permafrost is present you do not dig a hole. At Mt Rogers Virginia Highest Mt in VA above Thomas knob is a sensitive area you do not camp or dig or un earth any thing. There is a new approach though coming and is being used by many thru hikers today. This new approach and original dig a hole will be argued for many many years. They will invent a laser gun mounted on a GPS sat phone with a TV and sat Radio that will dissolve any debris and leave no trace. hike your own hike and that's what we do today.
New privies are built above ground now with a debris stash in a bucket asking you to sprinkle this debris on your deposit. All above ground and is working throughout the AT and many other sections of long distance trails in the US.
This is a work in progress and is limited to a few areas thus far.
