Default Maps and scrapbooks

I keep a scrapbook of our camping trips and road trips with the family. Each time we go on a trip, I cut out a map of where we went, color in the actual geographic route we took and use the rest of the map as background paper as needed. I try to add a brief story and have the children write one or two stories about individual happenings on the trip from their points of view. So far, we have a thick scrapbook and will add another volume soon. Most photos go elsewhere.

I don't keep a scrapbook but I think it's a brilliant idea for the children. Children love things like that and I'm sure they will appreciate it when they look back at the scrapbook when they are adults. I shall start my scrapbook on my next trip.

Great Idea

Spending time with children is more important than spending money on them. (Don't know who said it but I like it)

Suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress. But then I repeat myself.

The few we have done have always been for international trips but it is a good idea and something the kids can help with as well. For us its more about the kids than us, we take a ton of digital images while we are out and upload them to our site for friends and family to see. Secretly though I would love to get my own dark room and break out a new hobby.

I don't do a scrapbook, but I do keep a travel journal. I find it is helpful when we can't remember a restaurant we ate at or what the name of a place was that we visited.

I got a digital scrapbook I've made in my iPad. Got the different photos and scribbles that I've written during my recent trips. I have a niece that's got a scrapbook. Pretty neat actually. She even has this map in her room she proudly showed me last Thanksgiving. She has each of the places they've gone camping marked with a pin.

That is a great idea! We should start doing that for sure. We sure go on a lot of trips! My kids love to take pictures and scrapbook too. Thanks for the great idea.

Hi...

The first time I drove from NY to AK I kept 'sort of' a journal, plus took a few photos. The journal was 'lost' many years ago. I sure wish I had kept better track of it. I'm sure it would have been fun reading today.

My daughter keeps a scrapbook of our camping trips. I guess she took it from her mom. She's the more creative one of the two of us.
