Ppine, not sure how much the family had to do with it but my two oldest granddaughters, born 20 hours apart, really are amazing. (Glad they didn't invite Mom and Dad to THAT party)
The whole family was camped for a few days in the Island Park area. I took the boys on an overnighter into a lake on the CDT above Kilgore. There was a fire back there and a lady tree cop (USFS Law Enforcement) was blocking the road at a Y which didn't affect us. I talked to her on the way out and since I was coming right back with the girls for their overnighter, asked the Lady if we could stop and let the girls ask her career questions. It seems both girls were going through career days at school. I think they were 12 or 13. Their questions blew both mine and the Lady's minds.
1. Working in a male dominated career, do you feel you get the respect you deserve from co-workers?
2. Is the pay for your position adequate to make substantial savings? (From a 12 yr old we would have expected "how much do you make" or something similar) Quized further on that, Ashley said her goal was to climb Mt Everest before she was 35 and she knew she would have to have six figures in savings to accomplish it.
These questions from two 12 year olds and several more almost as thought provoking? Wow, the lady tree cop and I were both blown away.
Just found this pic of the girls on that overnighter
