Default O my feet!

I have arthritis in my feet, and a bunion on the one foot, to boot: I can thank a gramma for that genetic program.

I experience a lot of discomfort this time of the year, and have had to forfeit things like ice skates, ski boots... they simply make my feet scream in agony.

After years of being out in the cold and damp, I think this old girl is relegated to being the camp cook and staying warm by the fire.

That sucks. You may be able to find a boot/insole/pad/sock combo that works for you. I have spent a lot of time and money trying out different combos to help with ankle & knee pain so don't lose hope.

Have you checked out the more top-shelf insole makers: SuperFeet and Spenco?

As it is, if I don't keep my feet warm and dry, I have issues: anything that puts pressure on the side of that bunion is enough to make me want to cry at times.

I already have boots and such that are wider in width than the traditional, and name the insole, I've tried it. It's possible that my next set of 'lady shoes' will be custom-made, the price isn't far off what I paid for my boots.

And heaven help the person that steps on my one foot, the pain it puts me in will see to it that I drop you where you stand, on instinct.

Have you tried glucosamine for the arthritis? My mom is a grandmother, and she swears by the stuff. I was developing a chronic pain in my knee, and I started taking the stuff; after about two weeks it was noticeably better, and after a month it was more or less gone. My older brother had problems with both of his knees, and he raves about the stuff.

It might not totally fix your ills, but it could lessen them.

Best thing I have found for feet issues is to come home from the hike and soak your feet in a epsom salt soak, it works wonders for me, can't hurt to try it out.
