I hate seeing trash along trails and such, especially cigarette butts. I see a ton of it kayaking sometimes, and will bring a small bag with me now to clean some of it up.

Jason cigarette butts are terrible, not only because they are disgusting to look at but because most smokers throw them down while they are still hot and that makes them dangerous.

My motto is "Leave it cleaner than you found it". I will usually pick up some trash along my way and pack it out. I consider it a price I pay to enjoy the back country. Most off road and hiking clubs out here have regular trail clean up days too. Some areas are worse than others, but every little bit helps.

It frustrates me whenever I go on a hike and find debris here and there. It's a shame that people just don't take care of their own mess. I often bring my kids and we pick up along the way on our hike.
