About 12 years ago, we had a pair of great horned owls hunting a screech owl. One GH was on top of the weather vane on the barn, and the other one was sitting on the clothesline post. I have no idea where the screech owl was, but all three of them were making all kinds of racket.

I didn't have a clue what was going on, but I told a bird watcher friend about it and that's what she told me was going on. Apparently, owls can be territorial.

We had a barn owl hanging around a couple years ago, but haven't seen it lately.

A year ago, the voles destroyed my lawn, garden and even the hayfields. I killed over 300 of the critters just in my yard. This past winter a family of great horned owls would show up at dusk and stay till dawn. Their hooting was so relaxing. They wiped out the vole infestation much better than I could have and cleaner as well.

All I hear around my house is loud thumping car stereos...sounds like a pair of boots in a drier going down the road. God, I got to get out of this town!!!!!!

I hate noise pollution. Most subwoofers can be cured with a shotgun blast.
