Default Questions on full time RVing

I wanted to know how people go about keeping their vehicle registered and insured when they chose to hit the road and be a full time camper in a RV and not have a fixed address to a house or apartment they rent or own. Ive heard of those who live full time in RV's and just wonder how they do this.

Rv owners are residents of the last place they had a permanent address.

Picked up an old hitchhiker halfway between Arco and Craters of the Moon. (Very desolate landscape) He claimed to be a homeless wanderer but he had good gear. He also asked me to stop at a small store as he needed to replenish his food. He didn't buy cheap stuff either but good food, easy fixed and light to carry in his backpack. On the road again, I asked him how he got his money without a fixed address. Direct deposit and a debit card was all he needed in some bank somewhere. Daughters address for the statements took care of that. I'm sure that would work for the RV's as well.

Don't know for sure. But if I were trying to do this I would find a family member or friend that I trusted and ask if it was OK for me to use their address and set up a way for them to foward mail to me. Something like call and I will tell you which post office to send it to and plan on being at that post office a few days later.

I knew a fella tthat travelled a big circle when he and his wife retired.they started in Pa. traveled through the New England states, took in some of Canada then the northern U.S. traveled west up and down through the midwest then headed south and east taking their route through New Mexico and Texas, heading back to the east coast then north just in time for the holidays. They simply kept their address at their daughters residence and they kept a bank account at the bank they always had done buisness with. They had direct deposit. They were in a work campers association so they worked their way from campground to campground and their daughter boxed up their mail every 2 or 3 weeks and sent it to the campground they were working at. They did this for about 4 or 5 years till my friend got sick then they moved back home. He died last year but he died happy to have done those last years the way he did.

Im not planning on doing it myself since i own a condo down here bought and paid for, but when i retire i plan on doing some tent camping a month at a time to start. I found some sites like " Workcamper news " and another site that tells pretty much what you just said. Thanks

Yea I ain't planning on it when I retire either. I'd like to give it a shot but my wife will never spent a whole year away from her grandkids. A month maybe but never more than that. Of course maybe I could go for a year at a time

We have friends who live in a home in England part of the year, in Maine part of the year and in their home in Atlanta part of the year. In each place, they hire a trusted friend or neighbor to pick up the mail, go through it and collect what is important. It takes planning to schedule bills for certain places, but the wife has it all mapped out. It works beautifully for them.

Your relatives are a good bet. They're more apt to be around and open to providing such a service. They are also the ones others might contact first in trying to get in touch with you.
