Outer Banks, NC might be an option. Camping on the beach, winter fishing, possibility of snow. Ulmstead Park near Raleigh if you're heading to UNC. Great spot in the Sauratown Mountains is Hanging Rock State Park. Part of the Mountains to Sea Trail goes through there, lots of waterfalls, lake fishing, rock climbing and sweet views from the top and a couple of hours away from Chapel Hill. Spring break?

Hey heathen, Weather looks good for the Smoky's this week. Check out Nantahala. You can't go wrong with the AT this time of the year. Fishing, hiking, camping, waterfalls...hard to find fault with this Park. Let us know how your trip goes!

whoa! I was doing some research last night and decided on Nantahala myself over Linville Gorge for ease of getting stuff in and out of car if necessary! But, then I checked the weather for the days I'm interested in for Robbinsville, NC (3/26 - 3/29) and it looked like that area will be getting a lot of rain

This were some of the places I picked out:
Snowbird Backcountry Area
Huckleberry Knob
Santeetlah Lake
Blue Valley Campground
Cullasaja Falls

Have you considered Smokey Mountain National Park? It's not too far from Florida, and it would be big change of scenery for you. Weather might still be a little brisk at night now.

Hey; Don't give up on flat lands we call coastal in GA. I know this might be late but did you ever think of a canoe trip. Here in the south we do things the slow and easy way enjoying the sights as we go. We have had great weather 70/80s in the day and 60s at night. Many places rent gear try the Okefenokee Swamp you can sleep on platforms along the way and makes a great trip. Remember your repelant!
