Default Rude Campers

Have you ever come across them? In all the times we have been camping we've lucky....except the last time. Guess it couldn't last. I don't mind the music and talking and laughing as long as it is kept at a minimum and I'm not talking about whispering. But these people kept turning the music up and the laughter and voices kept getting louder and louder. No amount of asking them to keep it down seem to do any good. Finally I think they all just passed out. And also left the next day!!

Generators and music are my pet peeves.

One of the reasons I prefer primative camping and backpacking.

Some people are just major bone heads, totally clueless to others around them. Kind of like all theses ass clowns with the giant sub woofer systems in their cars. That crap travels right through a subdivision. There' no escaping it! Many years ago the military did research on sound waves and the effects on the human body. I guess they learned a lot from it, now they have what they call an LRAD "Long Range Acoustic device", really a great form of a non lethal weapon. I'd love to have something like that to fight back on these car systems. Just blast back a ultimately high pitched squeal and shatter the windows. This would work great for noisy campers too!

Noisy campers are among the reasons I dislike campgrounds and much prefer backcountry camping.

If they are making noise after the designated quiet hour often all it takes is a call to the campground office.

It's amazing the amount of nerve some people have. I have called the rangers before when some campers have been so inconsiderate of others. After all, you pay for your spot just the same as they did. I agree with OldSarge about the sound being a weapon. Just the bass sometimes will leave me with a headache.

I don't really have a problem with people laughing. Often times I've heard people from across the lake laughing and having a good time. Music is fine too so long as it's not blasting so loud. Dancing around the campfire being crazy and having fun is fine with me.

I am not one who is sensitive to noise, I can block almost anything out. However, generators drive me crazy. Some people bought the house next to mine, it is the only house close to mine. There is no electricity there yet and they run that blasted thing ALL the time and I think I am going to go mad.

I wonder if you could reverse the strong feelings about your neighbors by thinking about how difficult it would be for them to live without any power at all? It is hard to imagine Americans living in homes without electricity or indoor plumbing, but it happens. Is there any way that you could help facilitate power to their house?

Noisy campers are like noisy neighbors but without the option to call the cops on them. I could maybe understand some music like a little radio but nothing else on a trip, esp. anything loud.
