i'm not sure if scary applies, but it made everyone run in fear except on dog. it got sprayed by the skunk from about 3-4 feet. the next night another skunk was coming through and the dog cowered.

I have been into river water, suddenly one of my friend noticed a snake moving nearby my leg. He screamed out !! by the time, the snake was gone and i was lucky enough. I was unable to have a look at the snake too ! it was so fast !

I already mentioned the huge black bear I encountered while camping with my family that put the fear of God in me. I also got the privelage of seeing a herd of elk while backpacking. Before you say anything, these boys were HUGE. I say about 9 feet tall, me being 5'10 about 153 pounds I felt dwarfed. I don't know what they eat but they were muscular and looked like they got pumped with steroids. I guess it's all that excercise they get walking the mountains of Colorado in the high elevation. Luckily, they didn't bother me and I was smart enough to walk away and let them be. I'm still amazed at the size of those deer, it was really amazing to see

The most scariest thing is dogs. There is alot of dogs in camps and I am just terribly afraid of dogs. When you walk around the camp to recreational areas I hate it when dogs just follow you or something. I am so scared a dog will bite me. It is my instinct to run...then next thing you know your screaming

I have seen a tiger. I never had any threat from the animal as it was too far away from me. I was so scared by the sight of the huge animal.

About 5 years ago I went for a 5 mile run in the morning. On my way back home, I came in contact with a mountain lion. He stopped and looked at me and I thought " this is it" I was expecting the absolute worst and the thought of never seeing my family or having a family of my own triggered me to get angry. I started darting at the lion out of rage screaming at the top my lungs. He flew and darted off. I was very very lucky that my actions didn't backfire on me.

Ours was a rattlesnake on the road near where we were camping in a state park in New Mexico. That was scary enough, but then the park ranger told us that they are not allowed to kill any rattlesnakes. Kind of crazy if you really think about it.
