Default Sleeping In

Is it possible to sleep in while camping? I normally sleep until 9 am or so, but when I camp I am up between 6 and 7 am. It's nice, because I have more time to enjoy the day.

When the early morning nature call hits, it's time to get up.

It is possible. I do sometimes when I am car camping and was up late the night before drinking. But most of the time I am up with the sun.

It is possible but I can't imagine why anyone would want to. I personally like getting up before everybody else, getting my morning cup of java, and sitting back to enjoy the quiet of the morning, and the movements of the other early risers such as the deer, the birds, all the other creatures as they start their day, and when I am car camping it is even fun sometimes to watch the people around you as they get their day started.

Find a quiet spot, a deep bed and have at it. Don't drink too much the night before. Stay in the shade and don't let the sun hit your eyes. Happy Dreams.

America is a sleep deprived country. Learn to relax in the outdoors and catch up on your sleep. I used to travel a lot on business and learned to sleep anytime and anywhere.

Unless I were hiding out in an empty bear cave I doubt it would be possible for me. As soon as the light hits my eyes out camping or at home I am wide awake and ready to go, slow, but ready.

It depends on how comfortable I am and whether I'm too hot or cold, or any noise my camp mates are making. If I'm content, I can sleep anywhere. Although, I like getting up early when camping for all the reasons stated by Hikenhunter, and I get annoyed with myself when I do over sleep.

In addition to my earlier post I would like to add that although I am an early riser and I like early rising for the reasons I already mentioned, I love afternoon naps in the shade especially if I have a hammock to enjoy them in.

I'm light sensitive so when that sun rises, I'm up whether I want to sleep in or not. Also, as Grandpa said, nature calls early at my age. When you get up, that's when you get up and it's getting earlier every year.

I'm the same, I wake a few hours earlier when I am camping. There is less artificial light when you are camping, artificial light will disrupt our Circadian Rhythm. Sunlight is the best alarm clock!
