Default So jealous!

My sister in law and her family are off camping this week and we should have gone with them but our work schedules got messy at the last minute. They are off enjoying the great outdoors and I have been working almost non-stop since 5AM today.

Don't worry about it. There'll be another day and then your sister-in-law will feel the same way you do and you won't even think about it while you're out enjoying yourself.

That is disappointing, but the season is just starting so hopefully you will have lots of other opportunities to get together and go camping with them or on your own.

This weekend drag out the bbq pit or fire pit, lawn chairs. Ice down a cooler full of ya favorite beverages. Head out to the back yard. Build a fire, bbq, fire up a butane burner and put some beans on, etc. Back yard camping activities is a wonderful activity and great practice for the kids for when you go for real. Pitch the tent and have a ball, smores, weenies, ghost stories the whole thing in the yard. Its great fun, and takes no time, ya would cook and sleep home anyways, and saves a ton of money on gas etc. When your sister gets home you may wind up having more fun than they did in your own yard.

I also feel your pain, terrible weather here and tons of work to do also. I would have so liked to take my backpack and just go for it, but unfortunately i could not. Hoping to make up for the lost time next month.

I feel your pain too. I'm at the beach right now though and I love being here too. We are going to camp out a couple nights on the beach.
I hope you can get out there and camp soon!

I couldn't agree with you more. Work is one of those "damn if you do, damn if you don't" things for me. On one hand, work can really restrict you in terms on how long and when you can go camping. On the other hand, no work means that you don't get the money that you need to buy all of those really cool camping stuff.

That's just the way it goes in families. My sister and her husband are headed to Asheville for a week of fun. The beach cottage in my husband's family became available, too. We were invited on each trip, but alas! I've already committed to another job for the next month and can't back out. It's a bummer.
